Upon seeing one of his students reading a difficult book, a teacher said,

“Don’t read that book yet.”

The student replied, 

“I promise only to take from it what I understand from it.”

“It is not what you understand that concerns me,”

 responded the teacher, 

“but what you think you understand.”
